How It Works

Learn how photographers can gain recognition through two separate ways. Getting started can be overwhelming, so please take a moment to carefully read how the system works and explore the complete association rules before jumping in. There are two independent award paths and each offers a different way to shine.

Two Ways to Be Recognized!

FINAL RANKINGS — Official Results Announcement

  • The FINAL RANKINGS announce the titles WORLD TOP 100 WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS and COUNTRY TOP 25 WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS. These results are determined according to the ANNUAL RANKING, which reflects performance within the given year only.
  • Each year starts from zero, and only Ribbons (Photo of the Day, Week, Month, Year) awarded during that year count toward the Annual Score. This also means that even newly joined photographers have the opportunity to compete for top positions.
  • This system rewards continuous activity — uploading top-quality photos to your Portfolio week by week throughout the year. Since the score is calculated separately every year, consistent yearly activity is what leads to strong results.
  • Titles awarded: WORLD TOP 100 WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS and COUNTRY TOP 25 WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS of the Year.
  • To be nominated, you must reach a minimum Annual Score and place among the top 25 in your country or top 100 in the world.
  • All in Top 100 / Top 25 receive: Badge, digital certificate, and official title.
  • The first three in the world will receive an exclusive glass trophy.
  • All awarded photographers (Top 100 / Top 25) are featured in the book ANNUAL PROWED BOOK.
  • No financial or material prizes are awarded for these titles.

PROWED GLOBE AWARDS (PGA) — International Photo Contest

  • Separate international wedding photography contest, judged by an international jury.
  • This system offers a faster way to gain recognition and win Medals — you don’t need to submit photos all year long, just enter your strongest images directly.
  • Winners are determined only by the number of Medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) won in the PGA contest.
  • Only the Medal count matters — no Ribbons, no Portfolio uploads across the year.
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners receive: exclusive glass trophy, financial prize (1st only), material rewards, digital certificate and Badge.
  • All Medal-winning photos receive a digital certificate and are published in our book ANNUAL PROWED BOOK.
  • No Portfolio is required to enter PGA — just submit your best photos to the contest.
  • Medals from the PROWED GLOBE AWARDS (PGA) competition do not affect the FINAL RANKINGS!

What Does This Mean for You?

  • There are two completely independent ways to receive recognition on the PROWED Association.
  • FINAL RANKINGS (Top 100 / Top 25): Earned through continuous Portfolio activity and Ribbons awarded throughout the year.
  • PROWED GLOBE AWARDS: Based purely on Medals — submit your strongest photos and get judged by an international jury. No Portfolio or year-round uploads needed.
  • You can win in both ways: Be the World’s Top 100 Wedding Photographer (via Portfolio, Ribbons), and also place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in PGA (with a separate trophy and financial reward).
